Active Archivists!

By Jennifer Devlin

The Multnomah Historical Association’s team of archivists recently put in over 220 volunteer hours moving our collections from the Neighborhood House Building to a new site on Barbur Boulevard.  The volunteers inventoried, sorted, packed and moved hundreds of  irreplaceable local treasures. Among the archives are many volumes of well-documented research, an old school bell, cassette tapes with oral histories, early land deeds, scrapbooks, classic Multnomah photos, and other items that connect us to the past. Many thanks to Neighborhood House for their hospitality, and to Judy Tomey of Multnomah Antiques, who has provided additional storage space. Thanks also goes to Erin Primrose at Go Local who has contributed space in the beautiful and historic 1908 building on SW 35the Avenue. The Archive Team will continue to meet here to further preserve and study the MHA collections.
